About This Position

Our client is a healthcare company in Japan and having several operating companies located at oversea. They are currently looking for a Finance Director to lead a team of 4 people in Tokyo. Experienced in handling oversea subsidiaries will be a big plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support effective decision-making.
  • Monitor and assess financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and maintain relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for strategic initiatives, investments, and business development opportunities.
  • Assess and manage financial risks, including currency fluctuations, interest rate exposure, and other relevant financial instruments.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems, processes, and policies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and relevant regulations that could impact the company's financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or CMA is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and familiar with IFRS 
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance, optimizing processes, and implementing financial best practices.
  • Experience in consolidating/handling oversea subsidiaries 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
